Where do I even begin with Maggie?

June 26, 2013 – Snoopie was barking like mad out the front window. Terribly annoyed, I looked out to see what she was carrying on about. It was dark so I barely saw this little black creature moving around under our neighbor’s truck.

It was hot outside so I put on some shoes, grabbed a bowl of water, and went outside. I put the bowl next to the truck and I backed up a good deal. Nothing happened so I moved the bowl closer to the truck, splashed my finger in the water, and backed away again. The little black creature eventually came out for some water. As it turns out, she wasn’t terribly shy. She started walking around and I followed. She wasn’t scared.

I called Paige and she said to see if the puppy would let me pick her up.

And she did. And she whispered to me that her name is Maggie.

Luckily by then Paige had just pulled in to the driveway. So we put the dog in the car and took it to the vet to get her checked out.

To make a long story short(er), we kept her isolated from the other pups for a few weeks while we make sure she didn’t have any doggy diseases and meanwhile we posted around the neighborhood to see if anyone was looking for her.

No one was. She had no doggy diseases. She pretty much got along with the other dogs. She was very much a puppy (approximately 3 months old when we found her) so we were having to try to train her.

And she has been a handful ever since. Super sweet and super crazy and super maddening and a super hunter. That is our Maggie.
